As per report and as per schedule previously announced by North Korea, it has tested its new rocket on 5th April 2009.

Many countries have reacted on their known lines, USA condemns it and asks for strict action or punishment against North Korea, while China and Russia are opposing USA.
But, this recent incident of missile testing must have alerted USA as it has a dangerous country nearby who can launch missile attack on it. While many other countries like Russia or China has capability to launch missile attack on USA, but USA may worry more about North Korea, as it can actually do such an act without any real provocation by USA. Incidentally, North Korea has maintained that this was a test for satellite launch while other countries insisted it to be a missile test. But it means the same. Both can be used to deliver nuclear weapons. So, nomenclature does not change nothing on the ground, except may be in UNSC where people play with words.
North Korea and USA stand-off will be interesting to keep an eye and it has a potential to effect global equation.
