Two suicide bombing using trucks laden with explosives and then five low intensity bomb blasts left at least 39 people dead and many injured.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the latest bombing. Police said one suspect was detained.
Reports said some suspects picked up in connection with the March 3 terror attack on the visiting Sri Lankan cricket team here, were inside the ISI office when the blast took place.

There has been great deal of talking on Indo-Pak talks recently. One would be surprised to know that, no matter what would be the outcome of the talk, the talk itself generates much debate. One would be amazed to see talks on the talk like this:-

ISLAMABAD: Hours after India proposed dates for foreign secretary-level talks, Pakistan has claimed that it was New Delhi which had blinked not Islamabad. Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that it was India which had talked about breaking their “relationship” with us and their turning their back on us.

“But two days ago, India has approached and said they want to sit and talk to us and want to resume their relationship with us,” Qureshi told a public meeting in Multan in Punjab on Sunday. Source.

So, finally, it has become now official that United States diplomats are being harassed selectively by various security agencies ( ISI as many claim) in Pakistan. The harassment has increased so much that US ambassador to Pakistan has openly accused Pakistan establishments of harassing US diplomats in Pakistan.

The harassment includes checking of lower rank US consulate officers, employees at security check points, unnecessary delay in issuing VISA to diplomats or non renewal of visa to employees of US consulate in Pakistan.

The United States Embassy in Pakistan complained publicly Thursday that its staff members were being harassed and detained as they traveled around the country, a rare public protest reflecting the tensions as America expanded its presence here. American officials say they need to expand the embassy staff to help disburse $7.5 billion in aid to Pakistan. But many Pakistanis believe that the United States is bringing in spies to destabilize the country and to take over its nuclear program. Source.

Most probably, the recent American pressure on Pakistan to act against Taliban is taking its toll! Taliban and other jehadi forces have always been useful cards for Pakistan in its international diplomatic game-plan. But now in the name of “war on terror”, it is not only siding America, but also fighting the same Jehadi forces which they have trained, funded before! Also, ambassador of US does not complaint of getting their staff harassed in Pakistan does not happen daily!

It will be interesting to observe future development on relations between USA and Pakistan as USA is itching to mount attack in Pakistan with its drones while Pakistan has major reservation about it due to mounting opposition by its population against presence of US forces in its land. Pakistan is having almost regular bomb blasts now a days after it has started operations against Taliban.

There was another bomb blast today in Peshawar, a border city in Pakistan. It was fifth attack in this city which took place today in a police check point killing at least 13 people. As usual, it was suicide bombing attack, reportedly by Taliban which detonated a truck laden with explosives.

Recently, a suicide bomber killed five senior commanders of the powerful Revolutionary Guard and at least 37 others Sunday near the Pakistani border in the heartland of a potentially escalating Sunni insurgency, on 18th October 2009.

The attack — which also left dozens wounded — was the most high-profile strike against security forces in an outlaw region of armed tribal groups, drug smugglers and Sunni rebels known as Jundallah, or Soldiers of God.

Today, Iran Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said, “They cross into Iran illegally. They are based in Pakistan.” This must be a music to the ear of Indian diplomats and government. So far only India has been accusing of Pakistan on cross border terrorism from Pakistani soil.

Pakistan denies those charges by India and this time also they denied strongly the charges by Iran. It may be mentioned that the blast on 18th October, 2009 has been claimed by Jundallah group led by militant Abdolmalek Rigi which has been waging an insurgency against Tehran for nearly a decade as part of its fight for the rights of the Sunni Baluch population of Sistan-Baluchestan.

Intelligence Minister Moslehi of Iran demanded that Islamabad clarify its position. “According to the evidence, the Pakistan intelligence service is linked to the Rigi group and Pakistan has to clarify its position regarding the group,” He is quoted to be saying. This can surely make matters complicated for Pakistan which is waging a bloody war against Taliban in its southern Waziristan province.

It can be mentioned that India and Iran shares a close relation and Iran is dominated by Shia Muslim, a sect of Muslim religion. Shia and Sunni Muslims have a long story of conflict anywhere in the world. There has been many sectarian killings against Shia Muslims in Pakistan.

A wave of audacious and coordinated terror attacks — three in Lahore and one each in the northwestern cities of Peshawar and Kohat — on Thursday left 39 people dead and several others injured.

Terror siege in Lahore went on for over 2 hours
Minutes later, gunmen attacked Manawan police training centre and the elite police training institute at Bedian on the city outskirts, killing at least six people.

At least 10 people were killed and 20 others injured when a suicide bomber targeted a police station in the northwest Pakistani town of Kohat with an explosives-laden vehicle on Thursday, police said.

There was a lull after the death of Baitullah Mehsud in American drone attack. But as soon as new Tehrik-E-Taliban found a new chief in Hakimullah Mehsud, they have started attacking various Pakistan cities as well as Police offices including most daring attack on Pakistan Army HQ.

Most alarming part fo this new wave of attack is involvement of Punjabi terrorists outfit with Punjabi ethnicity. So far, Taliban ranks have been dominated by Pashtun ( Pathan) in FATA areas, South Waziristan.

Also there has been reports of many Pkaistani Army deserters joining Taliban. Pakistan Army and its civilian government has lot of works to do to contain this Taliban menace. Former star cricketer, Imran Khan opines that, the mess of Afghanistan has spilled into Pakistan now.

Recent report says that Baitullah Mehsud who has long list of terror acts, has been killed in American Drone Attack. Baitullah Mehsud had become Pakistan’s number of enemy and he was leader of Pakistan Taliban.

1. Assassination of Benjir Bhutto December 2007. Most probably this was his most successful and daring attack on Pakistan. Husband of Benjir Bhutto, Asif Ali Zardari became president of Pakistan and still serving as president.

2. Marriott Hotel bombing killing more than 50 people, mostly western.

3. Many suicide missions inside Pakistan.

He had very close contact with Al Qaida. It interesting to note that the same person who was once nurtured by Pakistan became number one enemy of it.

Recently, suicide bombing has become quite a regular news. Previously, suicide bombing was widely used by LTTE in Sri Lanka. But after LTTE demise recently, and before that too, suicide bombing was put to good use by Al Qaida terrorists.

Suicide bombings in Iraq, Afghanistan is almost regular and routinely executed by Al Qaida terrorists or its associates. Recently two suicide attacks took place, one in luxury hotels in Indonesia and the other in Afganistan.

Here is the news about Afghanistan suicide bombing attack :

KHOST(Afghanistan): Taliban suicide bombers, most of them disguised in burkas, tried to storm government buildings and a military base in two Afghan cities on Tuesday, killing six people, officials said.
The attacks in Gardez and Jalalabad came amid a surge in violence ahead of presidential and provincial elections on August 20, when President Hamid Karzai will stand for re-election despite criticisms about security and corruption. Source.

·Two blasts rocked two hotels in Jakarta Friday morning, killing 9, wounding 55 others.
·”After investigation…, it has been known two perpetrators of the suicide bombings.”
·Indonesian president told the press that the blasts were an act of terrorism.

JAKARTA, July 17 (Xinhua) — Indonesian national Police chief General Bambang Hendarso Danuri said that nine people were killed and 55 others were wounded by suicide bombings as two luxurious hotels, Ritz Carlton and JW Marriot, were hit Friday morning. Source.

Actually, these two are not the biggest suicide bombing in the world. The biggest suicide bombing took place on 11 September 2001, where Al Qaida terrorists got them selves trained as pilot in USA, then hijacked few planes and hit word trade center twin towers in New York. It changed the world and started USA famous war on terror. It changed USA too. Now no body is as secure as it used to be before 9/11.

Few successful suicide bombings are :
1. Killing of Rajiv Gandhi, former Indian Prime Minister by LTTE.
2. Killing of Benjir Bhutto, former Pakistani Prime Minister, by Taliban suicide bombers.
3. Killing more than 200 people in bali bombing
4. London Bombing by radicalised British Muslims

Actually, the list is very long. Suicide bombing is the deadliest feature of modern day terrorism.

Afghanistan is a very, very strange country. It has long history of war. Right from Chengij Khan and till recently the American. The country, Afghanistan, has been a battle field for everyone. Just to list few famous great warriors who have come to Afghanistan and fought wars:-

1. Alexander The great : He came all way from Greece and fought in the areas, now in Afghanistan around 324BC.
2. Ghajnavi : Arabs came and fought wars in Afghanistan from 600 AD to 1200 AD and by that time, Afghanistan was converted to Muslims from past Buddhists and Hindus.
3. Chengij Khan : The great Mongol warlord came all the way from Mongolia and fought wars in Afghanistan. And finally he went back without ruling this country. But he inflicted heavy loss of human lives and properties all around Afghanistan. Mongols terror lasted for almost 300 years from 1200 to 1500 AD.
4. After 1500 AD, no such foreign invasion took place, as during this period the whole world saw some peace. Industrial revolution caused Europeans dominate world market.
5. After the British captured whole of India in 1800AD, they came to Afghanistan and fought many wars. But they never could rule the country as it did whole of India.
6. After world war II, and at the height of cold war, Russian Army entered Afghanistan and started fighting with locals. They too left after 10 years of fruitless fight in 1989.
7. After Soviet Russia left, USA ( United States of America) moved in around 2003 and they are still fighting.

So, all world power come to Afghanistan to fight few wars for some reason or the other. And people from Afghanistan is fighting generation after generation.
