Indian being attacked in Australia!

There has been many attacks on Indians in Australian cities recently and it has been widely reported in all national India Medias.

Finally, Indian officials have conveyed “absolute displeasure and concern” to Australia over unabated attacks on Indians and asked Australian government’s to get its acts together. While Indian media and Indian official have been maintaining that, these attacks are racial in nature, ( “curry bashing” has recently got notoriety) Australian officials have maintained that these are not ‘racial nature’ but normal criminal activities.

Indian government has given out “travel advisory” against traveling to Australia due to these “racial attacks”. It is reported that, there has been steep decrease in number of applications to Australian universities from India this year.

Population in India and Japan

Japan has witnessed its steepest population decline since word war II! Yes, I typed correctly, no typo mistake. Indians or people from other South East Asian countries might find it hard to believe, but population of Japan has has decreased for 3rd year in row!

According to report, the welfare ministry of Japan estimated 1,069,000 Japanese children were born in 2009 in Japan while while 1,144,000 died, so this is 75000 decrease! This is causing steep increase welfare cost in Japan!

Change of leadership in BJP

Nitin Gadkari of Maharashtra has become the new BJP ( Bharatiya Janata Party) on Saturday, 19th December 2009, succeeding Rajnath Singh.

A day before, L K Advani resigned as leader of opposition in Loksabha ( Lower House) paving way for Sushma Swaraj to become leader of opposition. Most probably, this completes “Rule of Women” in India now. India has women as President, Speaker, Chairperson of ruling UPA ( United Progressive Alliance) and now leader of opposition.

Resigning by L K Advani may signal the end of Prime Ministerial ambition of Mr. L K Advani. Though L K Advani became chairman of party’s parliamentary party, but that post seems to be just a ceremonial post. One may judge that, era of L K Advani in BJP has ended.

6th December 1992

On 6th December, 1992, Babri Masjid in India was demolished by karsevaks in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, Indian state. Hindus claim that, a mosque was built on Ram Temple after demolishing it. This history of Babri Masjid thus goes back to many years which can be read at Wikipedia.

Intellectuals opine that, it has increased Hindu-Muslim divide in the country and gave birth to communal politics in India. Also, it resulted in serial bomb blast in Mumbai in 1993 which is said to be orchestrated by Dawood Ibrahim in retaliation to the Babri Masjid demolition.

Farmers protest in India and World Politics

Today, India and Delhi has witnessed a massive protest by farmers ( more specifically sugarcane farmers ) in New Delhi. 19th November 2009. All opposition parties came together in single stage in support of this protest as well as opposing government policies.

NEW DELHI: Holding sugarcane stems and shouting slogans, hordes of farmers from Uttar Pradesh arrived in Delhi on Thursday to voice their protest against the new sugarcane pricing policy announced by the central and state governments. Source.

Few news one should remember in Indian time line :-
1. Rs. 60,000 crore waived off for loans against farmers in India.
2. Suicide by farmers continues in India.
3. Sixth pay commission recommendation implemented in India and almost all government officials got salary increment of 30% to 70%.

India News : Diplomatic success in North East India

Recent news from India depicts Indian diplomatic success in its eastern border. India has been trying to put pressure on both Bangladesh and Myanmar ( Previously known as Burma) for acting against anti-India separatist groups like ULFA(United Liberation Front of Assam), NSCN ( National Socialist Council of Nagaland) etc for long time now.

Finaly, Myanmar has started acting against NSCN, ULFA camps in it northwest part of the where NSCN ( Khaplang Group) has been running few camps for both themselves and ULFA. The terrain is very harsh for both defence forces as well as the insurgent groups. But still Burmese Army has started operating against them can be termed as great diplomatic success by India.
