August 16th, 2009 — India
India celebrated its 63rd independence day yesterday on 15th August 2009 amid tight security in all parts of India. There are reports of Indian flag burning and shouting anti-India slogan in Jammu and Kashmir. In Assam

Indian Independence day 15 August Celebrated
and North East India, separatist organisations called for boycotting of independence day celebration as per routine for last 30 years.
While India made progress in many fields, but it still having the largest number of poor people in the world. It still has districts ( Dhemaji, Assam) which gets disconnected on two days rain. While it has engineering marvel like Bandra Worli Sea Link, it has “Liberated Zones” by leftist Naxalites in central India in Chattishgarh where people die routinely in Malaria as well as for a meal a day.
While India has well developed space program, it has corruption infested public distribution system and even a prime minister had to remark, only 10 paise out of every 100 paise spent on poor reach them. It has a well developed democracy and boast as largest democracy in the world, still many criminals get elected even from jails.
Happy Independence Day to India!

RAIPUR, 12 July 2009: Twenty-six police personnel, including a Superintendent of Police SP V K Choubey, were on Sunday killed in two separate attacks by Maoists in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh, India. The police party was going to a police camp at Madanwada.
Details briefing is still awaited. But I always think, Maoist threat in India may be much more serious and most probably, Indian central government is not taking it seriously as it should have taken. I also sincerely believe, it may not be a mere law and order situation, but a fault line in the very concept of India, after 1947.
