Recent News Headlines about Pakistan has been like Tags in Blog about Terrorist attacks around the world.
“Pakistan could collapse within six months: US expert”, “Suicide blast in Pakistan; 30 killed”, “Pakistan suicide blasts kill 15″, “Suspected US missile attack kills 13 in northwest Pak”, “Pak Taliban whip teen girl”.
Yes these are the recent headlines on Pakistan. The situation in Pakistan is very dangerous. The main worry being its nuclear weapons. If Taliban or religious extremist groups comes to power in Pakistan, then anything can happen!
The only positive sign is, Pakistan Army is quite strong and relatively large. But if they toe Taliban’s line or tacitly support Taliban’s actions, than both Afghanistan and India may face dire consequences. USA has great deal of influence over present Pakistan administration as well as Pakistan Army. That is the only hope in the present situation.
With USA drone attacks in Pakistan, public opinion is building against USA. This is a sentiments which Taliban may be trying to exploit. Recent implementation of Shariyat Law in few districts in Pakistan may be taken as weakness of Pakistan Civilian Government by Taliban.
