Veteran CPM ( Communist Party, Masxist) leader and longest serving chief minister of India, Jyoti Basu died today in Kolkota at the age of 95 after prolonged illness.
Jytoi Basu was born into a rich and privileged family with education in Loreto, Presidency College in Kolkota and turned a Communist with denouncing India’s independence. He is said to be one of the few who transformed communists a part of Indian parliamentary systems and many contributions.
Indian prime minister, railway minister and almost all political leaders have expressed condolence in his death.
Politics of west bengal as well as communism after his death would be interesting to watch.
