February 8th, 2010 — India, Pakistan
There has been great deal of talking on Indo-Pak talks recently. One would be surprised to know that, no matter what would be the outcome of the talk, the talk itself generates much debate. One would be amazed to see talks on the talk like this:-
“It is India which blinks on Indo-Pak talks”, says Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi just hours after India proposes secretary level talks! Also, it is interesting, Indian media picks up those lines and promptly put them on their headlines!
Such is the talk on Indo-Pak talks!

So, finally, it has become now official that United States diplomats are being harassed selectively by various security agencies ( ISI as many claim) in Pakistan. The harassment has increased so much that US ambassador to Pakistan has openly accused Pakistan establishments of harassing US diplomats in Pakistan.
The harassment includes checking of lower rank US consulate officers, employees at security check points, unnecessary delay in issuing VISA to diplomats or non renewal of visa to employees of US consulate in Pakistan.

November 15th, 2009 — Pakistan
There was another bomb blast today in Peshawar, a border city in Pakistan. It was fifth attack in this city which took place today in a police check point killing at least 13 people. As usual, it was suicide bombing attack, reportedly by Taliban which detonated a truck laden with explosives.

Pakistan PM Yusuf Raza Gilani
Incidentally, today Pakistan PM, Yousuf Raza Gilani told reporters in Multan, Pakistan, that it would expose Indian’s involvement in terrorism in Baluchistan. Gilani said: “The evidence will be presented at a suitable time.” It is very interesting that Pakistan is now accusing India of aiding terror in Baluchistan while India had been accusing Pakistan of sponsoring terrorist attacks in its Kashmir state. This is one accusation which many countries in the world agree, specially after America pressurizing Pakistan to act against terrorist organisation based in Pakistan.

Recent report says that Baitullah Mehsud who has long list of terror acts, has been killed in American Drone Attack. Baitullah Mehsud had become Pakistan’s number of enemy and he was leader of Pakistan Taliban.

Baitullah Mehsud killed in American Drone attack
Incidentally, Baitullah Mehsud fought alongside Pakistani Army in Afghanistan as well as American help. His long list of terror includes :-
1. Assassination of Benjir Bhutto December 2007. Most probably this was his most successful and daring attack on Pakistan. Husband of Benjir Bhutto, Asif Ali Zardari became president of Pakistan and still serving as president.
2. Marriott Hotel bombing killing more than 50 people, mostly western.
3. Many suicide missions inside Pakistan.
He had very close contact with Al Qaida. It interesting to note that the same person who was once nurtured by Pakistan became number one enemy of it.

I was traveling for last fortnight so I could not update this blog. But as I was reading local news papers, listening to radio news wherever I was, two news articles have been keeping me thinking.
1. Near Defeat of LTTE in Sri Lanka
2. Pakistan Action Against Taliban in Pakistan
LTTE is one of the oldest and arguably the deadliest terrorist outfit ( freedom struggle for some people) in the world. It had successfully fought Sri Lankan Army for almost 20 years and occupied vast areas where they established their own government. Most probably, no other militant orgnaisation could achieve this before.
